From ‘Its Our Cornwall’
Just before Christmas a planning inspector overruled the decision of Cornwall Council to refuse permission for 33 houses at Illogan, The developer who refused to listen to the local community and went to appeal was the Church of England, Now the diocese plans to meet with residents to ‘liaise over the plans’. But why didn’t they do that last year?
Still at Illogan, a new residential care community is planned for South Tehidy. This includes a nursing home, 40 extra care cottages, 6 ‘affordable’ cottages and 20 open market houses. Local residents point out there is an abundance of wildlife on this site and that an application for a single house in this area in 2013 was refused as ‘unsustainable’, So how can a nursing home and 66 dwellings now be ‘sustainable’? The destruction of Cornwall continues unabated!
