Today is the last day of the Site Allocations Development Plan Document. It is a seriously flawed consultation.
The Local plan targets have been agreed so this document is essentially about which areas of land are to be developed.
Significant areas have been excluded as Neighbourhood plans are being prepared – St Ives & Carbis Bay; Truro & Threemilestone; Wadebridge; Liskeard;
Bude-Stratton; and Torpoint. People will have to look at these to see what is proposed in their area.
The document is full of assertions, contradictions and unwarranted assumptions. It is an example of non-evidence based planning.
It is unlikely that as a result of the consultation anything will change. The sorry saga of consultation clearly shows that despite asking for people’s views and despite a large body of evidence which showed the housing target was far too high, nothing changed.
