Building houses has nothing to do with providing homes!

Ocean Reach (Truro) are applying to build 36 apartments (22% for social rent and 13% ‘affordable’) off Higher Newham Lane, Truro. A brownfield site for once (part of a former gas works), the site is below Lord Taylor’s Higher Newham Farm development. As the developers point out, this will change the background from ‘farmland’ to a ‘residential backdrop’.The proposed housing will mimic those across the river at Poltisco Wharf and Malpas. So who will they be marketed to? [PA16/07233]

Quite – another example of developers building houses for profit not for local need, what a surprise!
