St. Ives says NO, Government says YES!


Following the resounding vote in favour of stopping new housing developments for second homes, it seems the Government is not happy.

Meanwhile the government is looking at changing the rules so that communities can only have a vote on issues that a parish council has responsibility for.

Ministers say they want to make sure the system isn’t abused with local polls on issues that don’t fall under the remit of parish councils.

There we have it, the Government is quite happy for more houses to be built or used as second homes, regardless of the impact on house prices or the consequence of more land being built on!

But we knew that anyway!
