From ‘It’s Our Cornwall’
The secret peer review of Cornwall Council’s planning department concludes there are ‘very high levels of opposition to development and especially house building’ in Cornwall [para 7.13]. How strange then that more houses are being built in Cornwall in relation to the resident population than anywhere else in the UK. The report doesn’t mention that disparity though!
Hardly surprising as the extra development does not actually provide benefits to Cornwall. Cornwall just has more houses, more people, more jobseekers, more jobs – but at the end of it we are no better off!
