There have been calls from various quarters for pensioners to sell up and downsize – odd how you can scapegoat pensioners but conveniently ignore the real factors causing housing problems. Of course if you are fabulously rich you can have any sort of house you want!
Comedian Dawn French is selling her Cornish holiday home for £725,000. The 15-bedroom seaside home, in West Looe, offers panoramic sea views over the tranquil harbour town.
Estate agency Tepilo says the property is tucked away on a private road in a “fabulous location” that is “England’s West Country at its very best”. According to Rightmove, Clipper House is split into three units: The Clipper, The Crow’s Nest, and The Main Sail. Two of the units can be used as rental houses, while the third is used as living quarters.
The Vicar of Dibley star currently runs the house as a holiday let business and the new owners could earn up to £250,000 per year by renting out the entire holiday home.
Dawn also owns a 40-room mansion in Fowey, Cornwall. Her home overlooks Readymoney Cove and is a grade II-listed building that dates back to the 19th century.
