According to a report in the economist the London Borough of Tower Hamlets has expanded housing supply by 30% since 2004 – and yet this is not enough to keep up with demand.
There is now concern over the number of new tower blocks and housing density. Yet the number of people per home has increase from 2.39 in 2006 to 2.58 in 2014. The Economist thinks the answer is to build even more houses (high rise flats actually), we think not. Its time to address demand – what is the rationale for allowing the population of Tower Hamlets to rise and rise! Its simple madness.
