Plans are it seems afoot for a care home and 78 open market houses at Halgoss near Tehidy near Illogan.
What about the site? Greenfield – good quality agricultural land in a rural area.
Who wants to develop? Cornwall Care a registered charity with 16 homes in Cornwall.
The homes – all open market to fund the project.
Being next to Tehidy, a much sought after residential area the houses will probably be towards the upper end of the price bracket – effectively out of the reach of most locals in the area. So no affordables and probably no contribution to meeting local housing need.
Another proposal that should be rejected on a variety of grounds.
A message for the Halgoss Farm Action Group – think strategic campaign against over-development across Cornwall.
