According to the Trelawney Alliance “A resident of Camborne recently called in at the Labour Party office to discuss environmental issues with the labour PPC Michael Foster. The subject of inward migration was raised, the resident voiced his concern over the alarming number of houses proposed in the Local Plan. He then asked if these significant numbers were being constructed to support inward migration and was amazed when Mr Foster replied, “There’s plenty of room in Cornwall”.
Is this allegation true? And in reality there is not plenty of room in Cornwall! And a question – lets look at the new housing in Camborne and Pool – high density, low amenity and poor quality environments – a dystopian vision of the future of Cornwall (excluding the nice rural and coastal areas of course where such housing would never be allowed!).
