From ‘It’s Our Cornwall’
At yesterday’s strategic planning committee after 10 hours councillors agreed both Willow Green and Maiden Green to west of Truro – 950 houses and 2 supermarkets. And then kept the option of another 130 houses and a 3rd supermarket alive out at West Langarth. That’s a total possible 2,680 houses coming to the west of Truro, making 5,600 permissions given even though Truro’s Local Plan target is 3,000. And all in open countryside.
Ok, so what does it mean?
1) Expanding the number of households in Truro by over 50%! (local population growth – you cannot be serious!);
2) Another 6,500 cars on the roads! (And you think Truro is already congested!);
3) Another 5,000 jobseekers to find jobs for!
4) Need we mention Treliske!
