Yes today is the day when Cornwall Council will unfortunately give approval for the Local Plan to go forward!
1. That the Cornwall Local Plan, consisting of the Cornwall Local Plan:
Strategic Policies Proposed Submission Document 2010-2030 (March
2014) and the Proposed Schedule of Focused Changes (Appendices 1
and 2 respectively) and associated supporting documentation, as set
out in the report, be submitted to the Secretary of State for
examination, subject to the inclusion of an updated table showing
housing targets (including completions and commitments) in the
Community Network Areas.
2. That the Council commits itself to a continued review of evidence, and after the adoption of the proposed Local Plan, considers an early partial or total review of the Plan, where required by evidence (including future projections) and changing circumstances.
What can we say?
Simply that the plans targets are based on false assumptions, that the target is far too high and totally unsustainable.
If anyone thinks that developers will accept the figures and not go for any more allocations they are probably mistaken. We shall see!
