Err 657 people does not require 657 new houses!


The Cornish Guardian picked up on the news that the Broadmoor farm development unsustainable loss of green fields proposal had been given permission.

The proposer of the resolution to approve – Mr Hughes said: “There’s a demand for housing in this area, with 657 people on the housing register. If we are to turn down this application we will receive 8 to 10 more almost straight away. The benefit of this one is everything that comes with it.”

    How many times do we have to point out

– the HCR is not a reliable indicator of a need to build more houses!!! Most of the 657 are already housed and a fair number are adequately housed!!!

The number of new builds required is more like say 60-120!
