Several sharp eyed readers have written in to say they have seen gangs of workmen busily cutting and trashing the grassy banks and verges along the A30.
The question they as is – what is it all for?
We don’t really know but options include:
A) Its to improve highway safety [but so far away from the road? surely not!]
B) It’s a work creation programme organised by Ian Duncan Smith where people
volunteer are forcibly conscripted to work for their benefits.
It’s a scheme designed to uncover all those plastic bags and bottles that make their way onto the roadside.
It keeps the place tidy by getting rid of all those annoying plants that pop up all over the place and look so out of place!
It’s an attempt to annoy all those people who like butterflys and bugs!
