A HORTICULTURE expert has carried out a mercy dash to South Crofty to rescue a colony of rare orchids from destruction. Anne Osman, from Duchy College Rosewarne, saved the flowers from the mine site near the campus, which were discovered by Cornwall Council staff working on the new east-west link road.
Ms Osman said: “Cornwall Council clearly cares about our natural heritage and are actively trying to preserve it for future generations. “I’m delighted that the council is doing everything in their power to protect our environment through this development.”
Comment Rather difficult to see how the environment which contains rare orchids and lots of other plants etc, is being protected if a large road is removing said environment?
